I must state that I usually start one of these blogs, then some how some way life interrupts or I just get bored with it. Hopefully this isn't the case with this one. What my plans are with this blog is to tell my thoughts about being an 30 something college student who's pursuing a teaching degree for Deaf / Special Education. Eventually, the blog will tell of my student teaching, first year mayhem and hopefully move on to a more relaxed and experienced teacher mode.
About me: I would love to say that I'm a nerd, but more likely I'm just living vicariously through my friends/students. Most of my students (I teach Taekwondo) are learning about stem cell research, biomedical engineering, or some advanced technology that has not even been published yet.
I live in Ohio, a great state to grow up in and to come back to, but not one for making a life in the between time. I would love to move to Germany or some other European country, but for now I'll settle for anywhere but Ohio.
My major is Deaf Education. With so many classes being similar to Special Education, I may just end up getting my Master's in Special Education ( approx. a year longer) Right now I have a 4.0 in my major. Shhh... I've only taken one class (American Sign Lang I) and got an A in it.
